Sensitive gelding looking for the love of his life - Akay is a strikingly beautiful, incredibly elegant gelding originally from Spain. He is 16 years old and stands 153 cm at the withers. He captivates not only with his appearance, but above all with his wonderful personality: He is very playful, curious, incredibly sweet, and gentle to handle.
Within the herd, he occupies a low rank. Akay is a highly sensitive horse who always strives to do everything right and seeks a deep connection with his caregiver.
Here with us, Akay was trained from the ground using the Parelli Natural Horsemanship method. He loves long walks and refined groundwork. Akay no longer wants to be ridden—he has too many bad memories of riding from his past. We are therefore looking for a home where he can be kept exclusively as a companion and leisure horse for groundwork.
Akay is in excellent health; we’ve never had to call the vet for him. However, when he first came to us, he had problematic over-rounded hooves and initially wouldn’t let anyone near his legs. Thanks to patient work, hoof care is no longer a problem at all. His hooves are steadily improving, but they need to be trimmed at shorter, more regular intervals than those of other horses to maintain their shape.
For Akay, we’re looking for a sensitive person who is willing to fully engage with his sensitive nature. He should continue to live in a stable herd with plenty of free-range access (ideally on a paddock trail). Since he’s very playful, he definitely needs gelding friends to romp around with. He also needs enough space to easily avoid higher-ranking horses.
