Two experienced Quarter Horses are looking for their forever home together - Location: 74360 Ilsfeld
For personal reasons, we are looking for a new, suitable home for these two long-time companions. They will only be rehomed together, as they have been a well-coordinated team for many years. This is explicitly not an emergency sale. We are looking for people who can offer them a loving and responsible home where they can enjoy the next chapter of their lives. Cut Lilli Pine is a palomino Quarter Horse mare born in 2003, standing approximately 145 cm at the withers. This beautiful, compact mare has a very sweet, people-oriented personality. She is friendly, sociable, and easy to handle on a daily basis. At the same time, she needs one or two consistent, confident caregivers with whom she can form a close bond and through thick and thin. About two and a half years ago, Lilli began coughing. Since then, she has been fed exclusively steam-treated hay and is stabled on wood shavings or flax straw. With this care regimen, she is completely symptom-free and requires no medication whatsoever. She is well-behaved at the vet and with the farrier, has been regularly vaccinated and dewormed, and is accustomed to being kept in a stall with daily pasture time together with her buddy Woody. She has never been kept in an open stable. Lilli was gently broken in at just under four years old and trained in a versatile manner with lots of love. She knows reining elements, has been shown, and was part of the “Flack Attack” show group at Eurocheval in 2012 and 2014, as well as at “Faszination Pferd,” the foal market in Sinsheim, and other events. From 2018 to 2023, she competed successfully in endurance riding at ERF distances. She is also familiar with standing in a line, Christmas rides with her club, and multi-day trail rides in the Black Forest, the Palatinate, the Northern Vosges, and along the North Sea in the Netherlands. She is reliable both on the trail and in everyday situations. She walks away from the stable on her own without any problems, is familiar with farm vehicles, dogs, and other everyday situations, and remains calm throughout. She is sure-footed, isn’t afraid of water, and always cooperates well with the right rider. Lilli is not strictly a beginner’s or children’s horse. However, when led by hand, even experienced beginners or children can ride her comfortably. Her longtime companion, King Barr Hollywood—known as Woody—is a chestnut Quarter Horse gelding born in 2004, standing about 146 cm at the withers. This handsome, compact gelding has an exceptionally sweet temperament. He is people-oriented, friendly, and really enjoys his cuddles. He is uncomplicated and easy to handle, though overall he’s more of a laid-back type. Due to a slight misalignment, Woody has developed some osteoarthritis over the course of his life. This occasionally manifests as a bit of stiffness when he first starts walking, but he warms up quickly. He does not require medication. He has a slight tendency to resist the saddle, is taken to the dentist regularly, and is, of course, regularly vaccinated and dewormed. He’s also well-behaved at the vet and with the farrier, is easy to shoe and load, and is accustomed to being stabled in a stall with daily pasture time together with Lilli. He’s never been kept in an open stable. Woody was broken in at age three and trained in a variety of disciplines. He knows reining elements, has been shown, and was also part of the “Flack Attack” show group at various events. In addition, he has completed numerous trail rides in the Black Forest, the Palatinate, along the Dutch North Sea coast, and on multi-day tours from station to station. He is currently still ridden regularly by a riding partner. He walks away from the stable on his own without any problems, is familiar with farm vehicles, dogs, and normal road traffic, and remains calm in all these situations. He is sure-footed, though he is somewhat more cautious around water. To the seller's offerlaunch
