Rósi from Húsafell 2 - An 11-year-old Icelandic gelding of impressive size is for sale. Rósi frá Húsafelli 2 was born in 2015 and imported to Germany in 2022. He has a medium temperament, plenty of forward drive, has been trained in four gaits, and has a smooth, easy-to-ride tölt. He is always fearless on trail rides, whether in a group or alone. He is always easy to handle and is comfortable around children and dogs. He is familiar with the farrier and veterinarian and is load-friendly—he knows how to stand both sideways and lengthwise. Rosi can be skeptical of strangers but remains manageable in such situations. Rosi is easy to integrate into a herd; he tends to have a lower rank and is accustomed to both large and small group settings. He was kept in an open barn with us but is also familiar with stall housing. We are not aware of any health issues other than summer eczema. Unfortunately, the eczema flared up severely during the move to the Lüneburg Heath, and despite constant use of blankets, ointments, and washing—as well as being stabled at night—it could only be brought under control with high-dose cortisone therapy. That’s why Rosi has been staying near Friedrichskoog on the North Sea since August, and we’re hoping to find him a home outside the Lüneburg Heath.
