Joey – a sensitive Paint gelding is looking for the right person - Joey is a 7-year-old, strikingly handsome Paint gelding with a lot of expression and a sensitive, attentive nature. Therefore, he is not a horse for beginners.
He is not a horse that simply “works”; rather, he is one that needs trust and calm, confident guidance. Once Joey has developed trust in his handler, he is an attentive, eager-to-learn partner who enjoys working together with his handler.
Joey has been ridden in the Western style and is exclusively suited for recreational riding. He is not intended to be a competition horse.
He particularly enjoys groundwork and free work. He is curious and takes pleasure in learning new things and solving tasks together with his handler.
Because of his sensitivity, I’m looking for someone with horse experience—someone calm and consistent—who can provide him with a sense of security and won’t try to resolve his insecurity with pressure. A patient approach and clear, fair leadership are especially important for him.
His trail riding skills would need to be refreshed after a break. However, with the right person, I believe this is absolutely achievable.
Joey tested positive for MIM/PSSM2. With appropriate feeding and blanket management, this can be easily accommodated in his daily routine. That’s why I’d like him to continue living in a suitable open-stall facility where his needs are taken into account.
I’m looking for someone for Joey who is truly a good match for him. Anyone who appreciates a sensitive horse, enjoys working together, and is willing to earn his trust will find a wonderful recreational partner in Joey.
