Friendly, sensitive Spanish mix seeks best place - Merlin is a 7 year old Spanish mix Cruzado, in the great color Perlino with 2 blue eyes, who is not yet fully trained. He has a height of 143 cm. He does great ground work, goes on the lunge, listens to voice, also knows rider weight. However, he has not been trained any further (in riding) and is now looking for a new instructor to teach him the basics. He is sold as raw.
He is wary of strangers at first, but once he has built up trust, I am pretty sure he will go through fire for you. I would like to find him a great place where he can be a horse, but where he is also encouraged.
He has been vaccinated and wormed and is regularly seen by an osteopath, alternative practitioner and farrier. His teeth were done in August. He has a Spanish passport He knows open stables and single paddock boxes, although I would like him to have an open stable as the current single box is too boring for him, he needs social contact.
It is important to me to give Merlin into good hands as he has a small but, due to not having been dewormed he had a lot of stomach problems last year, but I got this under control with special gastro feed and juice with daily cooked linseed in softened hay. (He doesn't get any more food such as apples or carrots etc., as less is simply more with the Spaniards. The only thing he occasionally has is a bloated tummy which goes away with exercise, because of this symptom he has started to pant for air, but it is not a permanent condition, he has it occasionally or when he is bored. Otherwise he is an alert, fit little man who wants to do something. I am giving him away because of my situation as I don't have the time to do him justice. With a 2 year old toddler and young horse training I have probably overestimated myself a bit, and everything is growing over my head right now... and he definitely doesn't deserve to just stand around. If you are seriously interested or have any questions, just write to me. I will answer all questions
It is important to me that he comes into loving hands without pressure and coercion. He is currently not being worked due to my illness, and is allowed to enjoy the paddock every day. I am not selling him because of his symptoms! I just don't have the time. I hope that he finds a new home soon. He was supposed to move to a new home, but sadly the buyer had to cancel. That's why the little man is for sale again
