Barefoot Madrid Saddle - For sale is our Barefoot Madrid in seat size 1. We bought the saddle second-hand ourselves, but realized that it does not sit perfectly on our Fjord mare. The saddle has been used very little and has therefore not yet settled. The saddle is being sold without stirrups, stirrup leathers, girth, pad and with the current interchangeable pommel.

Madrid is visually perfect for the classical riding style, but the saddle not only looks good, it also allows the rider to sit low and securely. The closeness to the horse is palpable: the work of your horse's muscles and movements of the back are transmitted like in no other saddle of this design and thus form the basis for finer riding. The horse's back remains free from pressure, difficult lessons, collections, changes of gait: your horse can learn and change muscularly every day, free from tension, without the saddle restricting or even preventing your horse from moving freely through pressure.
The stirrup attachment (2.5 cm) can be freely positioned between the seat and saddle. This allows you to customize this saddle to your seat and body measurements. The girthing is flexible and V-shaped. Like all Barefoot saddles, this saddle can be saddled a little further forward, as the horse's shoulders can move freely under the Barefoot saddle at all times. The rider is thus positioned directly above the horse's natural center of gravity, making it easier for the horse to balance the rider's weight.
We manufacture the Barefoot® Madrid from two different types of genuine leather: Soft, supple, grippy suede with integrated padding for the saddle seat and robust, open-pored cowhide with a dirt-repellent surface treatment, which is particularly adaptable to the horse's back. 6 D-rings for attaching the saddle pad etc.
The seat is removable (fastened with Velcro) and can be replaced with a genuine sheepskin seat. The sheepskin seat has integrated knee rolls at the front and can be ordered separately from us.
