Appaloosa Shetland pony mare - Unfortunately we had to put our big horse to sleep yesterday and are now looking for a new home for Nala.
She is an absolute heart pony. She is only for sale because I have to give up riding for health reasons and am now looking for new company for her as soon as possible.
However, we will only give Nala into good hands, she is not a distress sale. The new home must definitely suit her needs and a horse person with heart and horse sense sees what she can do and who she is and not what she should be and must do.
She was often used as a hand horse in the field. She shows a lot of joy, stamina and is typically fearless as a pony. For the last two years she has only been a side horse (for private reasons and lack of time) and has only been worked sporadically on the lunge. She also shows a lot of joy and fun. She responds very well to body language and voice. She also enjoys jumping over small obstacles. She tolerates small riders when led. She is not a riding pony. She also cannot drive a carriage.
The farrier was there regularly to care for her hooves. She has also ridden in a trailer without any problems.
She is 12 years old. I have owned her for almost three years. At the beginning she was stabled with two mares, and finally with a Shire mare in an open stable. She was the "herd leader". However, she was never vicious.
She knows 24-hour hay and hourly pasture.
The vet was there yesterday to examine and vaccinate her and confirmed her health. She has been wormed regularly.
Unfortunately, she has been struggling with itching in the hot season for two years. She is of course being treated for this.
Otherwise she is in top condition and has never had any complaints.
Her character is absolutely lovely, friendly, relaxed and even-tempered. A pony of the heart. She doesn't have a typical Shetland pony character and doesn't take it amiss if she doesn't have anything to do. At our stables there is plenty of exercise and a kindergarten whose children enjoy visiting our horse and Nala.
