A special gelding is looking for the place of his heart - Even though it is not easy for me, I have decided to look for a new home for my Hugo, where he can continue to lead a nice and suitable life.
About Hugo: * Born: 03.05.2011 * Approx. 158 cm tall * Hungarian warmblood / Arabian * Black/brown
Hugo is an incredibly sweet and honest guy to handle. He is people-oriented, does everything well and shows his best side in everyday life. He is currently in an open stable with two mares, which works very well. In the herd, he tends to be high ranking or in the middle, but never unfair or nasty to other horses.
Training & work: -----------
Hugo was originally trained in English, I then switched him to Western and ride him recreationally, which is exactly what he enjoys the most. He's not a beginner's horse, but needs an experienced, confident rider who knows what he's doing and can give him clear aids. We used to love trail riding, which he knows well, but he's a bit out of practice at the moment. He does ground work, lunging and circus lessons very well. For example, he can do the Spanish greeting, we have started with the Spanish walk (not yet fully consolidated), as well as "laugh" and "give a kiss".
Terrain & transportation: -----------
He loves going out in the field, both alone and in a group. He knows how to cross water and swim. When it comes to trailering, he is currently not able to get on the trailer on his own. With calm, patience and lateral restraint it can work, otherwise you can sedate him. This should be practiced further with a trainer if necessary, as he used to get on without any problems.
Health: -------
Hugo is regularly vaccinated and has always had his teeth done. The farrier comes every 6 weeks, he is currently shod at the front, but could also be shod at the back. He is well-behaved at the farrier.
He has random findings that do not restrict him and he has never shown any pain:
* Front hoof roll syndrome (treated once, symptom-free since) * Minor arthrosis (right front leg) without clinical relevance
These were diagnosed a few years ago and have remained normal ever since.
Feeding: ------
He tends to be a light feeder. With 24/7 hay and too little exercise, he puts on weight quickly. However, with sufficient training and the right quality of hay, an open stable with permanent hay is possible. He currently gets hay and concentrated feed twice a day.
Desired place: --------
I would like Hugo to find a loving home in an open stable with a herd connection. This is simply the best way to keep him.Keeping him purely in boxes with little exercise is out of the question for me.
Other information: ------
* No bad habits such as bucking or climbing * Test riding possible (30 €, will be deducted from the purchase price) * Accessories can be purchased * Horse passport available
It is particularly important to me that Hugo gets a place where he can continue to be well looked after, get regular exercise and just be a horse.
