The Eggbutt cheekpiece prevents the lips from being pinched and the bit from being pulled through the mouth. The bit is suitable for horses that push the bit away with their tongue. It enables better balance and control. The pressure is concentrated on a smaller area and brings the head down.
Bomber bits are shaped, welded and polished by hand.
When the sweet iron comes into contact with moisture, an oxidation process begins, the resulting taste stimulates the horse's saliva production and promotes acceptance of the bit. This process changes the typical blue color to a brown-grey. If a Bomber bit is not used for a longer period of time, the tarnished areas can be wiped off with a pot cleaner or a damp cloth and any rust can be easily removed in this way.
