He is healthy, regularly vaccinated and wormed as well as being friendly to forging and loading. He is very people-oriented, sensitive and attentive when handled. He builds up a close bond with his owner, wants to please and is always up for a bit of fun. He is no stranger to naughtiness and has even been ridden by a child under supervision. Under saddle, he impresses with his soft, extremely comfortable gaits, great expression, tact and quality. He has been trained in a variety of ways and is currently being ridden professionally. He has been worked professionally on a regular basis for several years and has developed very positively as a result. He works confidently over trail obstacles such as bridges, poles and gates, he masters flying changes and outside canter as well as ground work, work on the double lunge and cross-country rides. In unfamiliar or unsettling situations, Merlin remains manageable and focuses strongly on his rider. If he is given security and calm, he shows himself to be a motivated, reliable partner with great potential. Merlin is high in rank and requires a stable environment in a pure gelding group. Frequently changing herd constellations are stressful for him.
