The premium stable mat from Ridcon consists of a mixture of EVA and rubber. The high-tech material ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) is particularly flexible, insulating, anti-slip and tear-resistant. The mats are ideal for use on lying surfaces in boxes, open stalls or loose stalls. The EVA mat has very good damping and insulating properties. Due to the non-porous surface, the mat does not absorb urine or water and is therefore hygienic and easy to clean. The stall mat is also very suitable for allergy sufferers or horses with chronic coughs. By using the EVA mats you can do without bedding as far as possible. The mat offers the top lying comfort for the horses even without bedding. The bedding is only needed to bind the urine.
The material of the EVA mat reacts sensitively to temperature. When the horse stands, the EVA mat provides a robust stall floor, when the horse lies down on the mat, it adapts to the body heat and becomes a soft lying surface. Due to the non-slip surface, the EVA mat offers the horse a good grip when standing up and protects against chafing.
It can be used with shod horses without any problems. Irons with widia pins or studs should be avoided as this reduces the life of the mats. EVA reacts sensitively to strong sunlight, therefore the mats may only be used indoors.
We recommend that you lift the EVA floor mats once or twice a year to see if any liquids have accumulated underneath. If this is the case, label the EVA mats so that they are put back exactly as they were originally. Then remove the mats from the box, blast them with water and lay them flat on the ground to dry, in the shade (please do not put them in the sun). After drying, put the mats back in the box.
